Spiral Knights by Mettler15

Alright so recently "Steam" released a section of "Free to play" games. Along with this came a game called Spiral
Knights. Now realizing that this has been out for quite awhile I figured it was dead. I look around, and MANY have said this game was given a breath of life from being put on steam! This game is a diablo like view. While having an auction house, dungeon adventure type feel. Collecting loot, killing bosses, getting tokens. Upgrading in the game is SO satisfying! You go from skin tight close with maybe a shoulder pad, to star 2, 3, 4, 5 Each getting more bulky with armor or fur. Increasing defense against elements, etc. These leads to great replay ability. These levels you go through are FUN, they change up very often, while still having a challenge in the later tiers.

The learning curve is pretty high early on, but after acouple levels, you'll be feeling comfortable in the game. The game runs off of microtransactions called "mist". Each knight (characters) gets a tank that can hold up to 100 energy. This recharges over time (about 100 every 24hours) Now if you do decide to pay which I strongly suggest if your into the game at all. You get large, and I mean LARGE amount of energy. For example the 20 Dollar payment gives you 7,500 energy! x75 the amount of energy you normally have! This allows you to play more aggressively instead of the just acouple levels a day with your 100 energy tank. Overall this game gets very deep if you play into it. With many things to do such as upgrading gear, merching, bosses, and playing with friends! This game is a wonderful game to play whenever your bored, as your constantly doing something! I give this game 8.5/10 It's great for what it is, and the game itself is VERY small 300-400mb :)

Two Worlds 2

Two Worlds 2
Coming from Two worlds is the new Two worlds 2. Its much more refined and is a great RPG. The storyline is quite normal to most RPG's, yet has a stunning atmosphere. You go from deserts to jungles, and everywhere in between. With the amazing atmosphere you also need weapons, armor. Which they delivered on! Although Melee is button smashing, your able to switch to the other two classes: Mage and range. Your able to switch between these with their own appropriate armor and weapons. Mage is quite similar to "Magicka" allowing you to mix spells to create newer spells you didnt know about! Range class starts out slow but picks up farther in the game, and has its own place. Moving on to the gameplay. The AI isn't always the best sometimes, getting stuck and not responding. The game scenes are horribly long at times, but is able to be skipped and you can read the summary in the quest log. The idle animations, and moving animations are exceptionally smooth, and with camera views that wobble, and move to your direction make this seem and feel like new-age games. Its not the best RPG, but if you have ever liked a RPG this game is definitely worth checking out. The more your into this game, more you'll get out of it! I rate this game 7.5/10!

Assassin's Creed II

Assassin's Creed II
Is the continuation of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, which may I add had HUGE popularity, allowing people to sneak around and assassinate! Assassin's Creed 2 has evolved from its predecessor in several ways which I will be explaining. To begin if you have played the original game this game gladly ties up any loose ends you may have! I must admit the keyboard and control scheme is awkward and slow at the beginning, but soon I found out that these keys work together to pull off escapes and combos! At the beginning of this game you wake up as Desmond, and must escape from a jail. After escaping he goes into the past where we first meet Ezio. It takes you through all the steps of his life even his birth : ) . While this game isn't exactly a "stealth" game, it does have quite a few elements that allow you to be sneaky. Such as hiding in big groups of people. Or maybe jumping in a stack of hay to lose those pesky guards! Among all this you will experience an exciting storyline accompanied by good graphics, well done sound, and graceful parkour. This game also goes farther allowing you to get collectibles, and obtain new weapons/armor along the way. The game is quite lengthy lasting around 15 hours without even doing any "extra". Ubisoft took this game to the next level. Increasing every part we liked about the old game and trashing the bad parts! All in all I think if you don't already own this game, it is worth getting! I rate this game 8.5/10

A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda

A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda
A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda is a megaman-like game with epic bosses and hard but rewarding gameplay. The game has two difficulties: Hard where bosses have more power and you can find secrets, and Easy that doesn't let you do anything said above. A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda adds repair kits and grenades to add increased fun. You can also upgrade your weapons at anytime, so when you’re taking beatings just use a repair kit! The story is focused on A.R.E.S. who is the ultimate weapon of destruction! The story is about 9 – 18 hours I really spent 18 hours trying to find all the secrets on hard. Its only 10$ on steam right now. It also has a demo out you should go give it a try. I rate it 8/10!

Super Meat Boy

Super Meat Boy
Super Meat Boy is a platforming game that will have you cursing at your screen! Even though it aimed for hardcore gamers and the retro community it dosent have a life system cause your going to die a lot. Aside the difficulty it’s a very fun game to play I spent days trying to unlock all the characters and I still haven’t got all of them! The main goodness is the levels that are amazing when you look at them at first the levels are colorful or dark and depressing as they should be. A fun thing that Super Meat Boy dose is the fun of seeing all of you meaty clones get killed all at once! Now with 100% more meat! I rate it 8.5/10

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Games that absolutely radiate fear and horror aren't so common now a days. Amnesia, was created by Frictional Games. The game is fairly short, but do not fear. You will remember every second of this horrifying game. For example. Just a tiny little part of the game.. All the times your in the dark, or witness any sort of scary event you slowly go insane, seeing more and more events of horror! Wonderful eh? But down to the point, this game offers many puzzles and can seemingly go very far in depth without losing you. The storyline is quite to the point, and the voice acting is spot on. Graphically this game is quite good, it's not that of crysis. But its not that of minecraft :). The feeling you get when you know something is after you, and you need to hide or devise a plan to get rid of it is bar to none. The game has to be one the scariest games I've played in awhile. The atmosphere is near perfect to an absolute hell! The terror is unforgiving and you may find yourself sobbing. Its Amnesia: The Dark Descent.. I rate this 8.5/10 although I feel it deserves more..

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Need for speed hot pursuit

Need for speed hot pursuit is the newest game in the need for speed series that lets you pick between two different campaign like sides! Cops or Racers! First off the games graphics look absolutely amazing, but feels quite a bit like burnout. Cops and Racers get weapons such as road spikes! These are used to take out cars in races but later the weapons become over powered and are used against you! Trust me you start to run for your life. The autolog system works very well and keeps it fun after you are done with the game. The game is about 7 to 9 hours so there is a fair amount of races. You should give it a try! I rate it 8.5/10

Monday Night Combat

Monday Night Combat
I know for a fact that many people play Team Fortress 2, its fast paced combat is quite enjoyable. After awhile it becomes loathsome, and often times you drift away. Thats where Monday Night Combat comes in. Its a very lighthearted shooter compared to team fortress 2, yet has quite abit of the same things. For example the classes are Assault and Tank (big weapons) Assassin and Sniper (smaller yet powerful weapon/options) and Support class which is able to heal such as a medic on TF2, at the beginning you start off with some money and must decide where to spend it! Maybe on yourself? Or maybe on turrets for safety. You have to choose fast because soon the wave will come. Wave? Yes! waves of minions! Like league of legends, or Dota! You kill theses for more money to progress more and upgrade more through the level! Besides all that I find this games content to be fun and focused. Not at all an extreme shooter with people trying to be god. This is a light fun tactical game, such as TF2. I rate this game 8/10

Magicka

Ever want to have a game where you can combine spells to create other spells you have not found? Multiple elements you can add to create an epic spell? Shield bombs? Frozen bolts of earth? All! this is in magicka! Magicka's spell system is one of what many have wanted, allowing for extensive experimentation and discovery! The gameplay is often laid back, and most of the time when not fighting epic bosses, you are testing new spells and combos. You also learn spellbook spells which often times are much stronger and greater than normal spells.
There is witty commentary on the story, and everyone talks like a Swedish sim! Soon you will find yourself speeding through using crazy spells and healing and shielding yourself thinking your invincible. Till a boss beats you, and your forced to change your tactics! Did I mention this is Co-op? and multiplayer? also a challenge mode/ arena challenge mode! Servers you can connect to and play with other people. Playing Magicka isn't just about remembering and spamming spells over and over again. Its more about trying all kinds of different spells watching destruction before you, as you win the battle! It's epic that the mechanics of this game are so sound, and feel so rewarding. I would rate this game 8.5/10!

Dead Space 2

This game is insane. The terrifying moments and epic kills are worth it alone. When I first started the game I already felt that similar feel of the other game. Always anticipating, and fearing. The kicker to this game is that you don't have conventional weapons.. You have weapons that were already there for mining. Buzzsaws and plasma cutters, with an engineering suit to boot. The main character is Isaac, he has quite a background, and his hullucinations and conversations with himself are a halarious part of this game. Behind all of this its gracefully placed on a well good story-line. Which just completes this game in its entirety. I would rate this game 9.5/10 if you played Dead Space 1 and liked it at all. You will absolutely love this game.
